About

Exercise Northern Strike is a military readiness event hosted annually at Michigan National Guard facilities. With approximately 5,000 participating Marines, Soldiers, Airmen and Sailors, Northern Strike is one of the largest reserve component exercises supported by the U.S. military. The mission is to exercise participating units’ full-spectrum of capabilities through realistic, cost-effective joint fires training in an adaptable environment, with an emphasis on joint and coalition force cooperation.

Marines, celebrities battle Hurricane Sandy
Marine Cpl. Christian Perez, a motor transport operator and a Union City N.J. native takes a break from unloading much-needed donations in the form of diapers, canned foods, clothes and blankets at a relief distribution site in Toms River N.J., Nov. 3, 2012. Following Hurricane Sandy, Marines from 6th Motor Transport Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group, utilized their 7-ton trucks to move donated relief supplies to distribution points amongst the most heavily affected areas.
