Major Angel L. Burgos

Major Angel L. Burgos is a native of Fajardo, Puerto Rico. In May 2008, Major Burgos received a nomination to the Naval Preparatory School (NAPS) in Newport, Rhode Island.  Following the completion of NAPS, he attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.  In May 2013, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant.  Upon graduation from the United States Naval Academy, Major Burgos executed orders to The Basic School (TBS) in July 2013. After graduating from TBS, Major Burgos attended the Ground Supply Officer Course in Camp Johnson, North Carolina and earned the MOS of 3002, Ground Supply Officer. 

In February 2014, Major Burgos received orders to Marine Aircraft Group 39, Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California.  He served as the Ground Supply Officer in charge of Marine Corps Property.  While assigned as the Ground Supply Officer, Major Burgos supported multiple Deployments for Training (DFT), Unit Deployment Programs (UDP), Integrated Training Exercises (ITX), and Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) detachments.  In June 2017, Major Burgos received orders to attend the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.   In December 2018, Major Burgos graduated with a Master of Business Administration in Material Logistics Support Management and earned the MOS of 8862, Material Management Officer. 

In January 2019, Major Burgos reported to the Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Quantico, Virginia. He served as a Logistics Analyst in the G-3 Operations and Programs Directorate.  His duties consisted of managing the reporting of Supply and Maintenance ratings of equipment fielded and maintained by the Program Management Offices.  In July 2021, Major Burgos departed MARCORSYSCOM and checked into the 13th MEU as the Command Element Supply Officer.  While there, he deployed with WESTPAC 23.1 to the Indo-Pacific from November 2022 until June 2023.   

Upon his return from deployment, he executed overseas orders in support of a Joint Assignment to NATO HQ Allied Land Command in Izmir, Türkiye.  Major Burgos served as a Staff Officer in the G-7 Training & Evaluation Section managing the certification and validation of Combat Readiness Evaluations for Land Forces declared to NATO.  In August 2024, Major Burgos reported to Task Force 51/ 5th MEB in Manama, Bahrain.  He served as the G-4 Sustainment Officer and oversaw all sustainment and contractual support for both ground and maritime operations and exercises.  In August 2025, Major Burgos reported to Motor Transport Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 451, Orlando, Florida where he currently serves as the Inspector Instructor. 

His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, with two Gold Stars in lieu of third award, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Gold Star in lieu of second award, as well as various other unit and service awards.
