Colonel Jeffrey S. Curtis
Chief of Staff
4th Marine Division

Colonel Jeffrey S. Curtis is a native of St. Louis, Missouri.

He is a graduate of Missouri State University and was commissioned a United States Marine in January 2001.  

Company grade assignments include 1st Battalion, 10th Marines (Camp Lejeune, NC) from 2002-2005.  Instructor staff at The Basic School/TBS (Quantico, VA) from 2005-2008.  5th Battalion, 11th Marines (Camp Pendleton, CA) from 2009-2011.

Field Grade assignments include instructor staff at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One/MAWTS-1 (Yuma, AZ) from 2011-2014. 1st Battalion, 11th Marines Executive Officer (Camp Pendleton, CA) from 2014-2015.  11th Marine Regiment Operations Officer (2015-2017).  11th Marine Regiment Executive Officer (2017-2018).  United States Central Command, Joint Fires Element Deputy Chief (Tampa, FL) from 2021-2023.  4th Marine Division Assistant Chief of Staff / G-3 (New Orleans, LA) from 2023-2024.

Colonel Curtis served as the Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion, 12th Marines (Marine Corps Base Kaneohe, HI) from 2018-2020. 

His current assignment is the Chief of Staff for the 4th Marine Division. 

He is a graduate of the Marine Corps’ Expeditionary Warfare School, the Marine Corps’ Command and Staff College, and the National Defense University (NDU) Eisenhower School. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications/Public Relations and a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy.
