Command Master Chief (FMF/EXW/SW/AW/IW) Mark G. Marzella
Command Master Chief
4TH MARINE LOGISTICS GROUP

Command Master Chief Marzella, a native of New York enlisted in the United States Navy on 13 Sep 2000 and attended Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Illinois.  He successfully completed Electrician's Mate (EM) “A” School at Service School Command Great Lakes, IL in 2001 and joined the fleet. 

CMDCM Marzella's duty assignments listed in chronological order:  USS Defender (MCM 2), Naval Station Ingleside, TX; Navy Reserve Center Erie, PA; USS Curts (FFG 38) San Diego, CA; Navy Reserve Center San Diego, CA; USS Makin Island (LHD 8) Naval Station San Diego, CA; Maritime Expeditionary Security Group One ​(MESG 1) Naval Outline Field, Imperial Beach, CA;  Command Master Chief Tours: Navy Reserve Center Great Lakes, IL; Navy Reserve Region Readiness and Mobilization Command (REDCOM) San Diego, San Diego, CA and is currently serving as the Command Master Chief for 4TH Marine Logistics Group (4th MLG), New Orleans LA. 

4th MLG comprises a Headquarters and Service Battalion along with two Combat Logistics Regiments (CLR), each CLR contains two Combat Logistics Battalions. 4th MLG also contains an Engineer Support Battalion, a Medical Battalion, and a Dental Battalion providing general and direct support and sustained combat service support above the organic capabilities of the support element of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) encompassing 8,250 Sailors and Marines.   

CMDCM Marzella was selected to the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 2010 and Command Master Chief in 2019.  He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Propulsion Engineer Course, Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 211), Command Master Chief/ Chief of the Boat course (May 2018) and Executive Leadership Symposium (Jun 2021).  He holds a Bachler's Degree in Administrator Leadership from the University of Oklahoma (OU) and an Associate’s Degree in Applied Electronics from the University of Thomas Edison.  

CMDCM Marzella is designated Master Training Specialist, Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist (FMF), Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (SW), Expeditionary Warfare Specialist​ (EXW), Aviation Warfare Specialist (AW), Information Warfare Specialist (IW) and earned his Small Craft Insignia (SCI).​  His personal awards include: Meritorious Service Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals (6), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (6) and various campaign and service medals.
