Sergeant Major Fox enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 22 July 2002 and completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. Following graduation, he attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California, and the Basic Hygiene Equipment Operator Course at the Engineer School, Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Upon completion of MOS training, Private First Class Fox was assigned to 1st Maintenance Battalion in December 2002, serving as a 3rd echelon utilities mechanic. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I in 2003 and later deployed with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2005, where he served as a vehicle commander with the MSSG convoy security and route clearance detachment.
In July 2006, Corporal Fox was honorably discharged from active duty and transitioned to the Individual Ready Reserve. He rejoined the SMCR in 2007 with Headquarters and Service Company4th Medical Battalion, and served as a platoon sergeant and platoon commander.
In April 2011 SSgt Fox transferred to Surgical Company Bravo, 4th Medical Battalion, where he served as Company Gunnery Sergeant and Senior Enlisted Leader.
In July 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Fox joined the Individual Mobilization Augmentee Program as Senior Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (SNCOIC) and Operations Chief for Reserve Support Activity 4. The following year, he was assigned to the Force Fitness Division, Training and Education Command (TECOM), where he served as technical subject matter expert, special projects officer, and SNCOIC for the Force Fitness Division and Human Performance Branch.
In May 2022, First Sergeant Fox assumed duties as the Unit Senior Enlisted Advisor for Bravo Company, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, completing a successful tour in January 2024.
He subsequently joined Supply Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 451 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Sergeant Major Fox was appointed as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron-49 on April 11th 2026.
Sergeant Major Fox holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Diego State University and a Master of Science in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport and Performance Psychology from A.T. Still University. He currently serves as a Human Performance Program Manager with the Department of the Navy as a government civilian. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various other service and campaign awards.
