Major Roberto Suarez
Commanding Officer, Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

Major Suarez was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in December 2002. Second Lieutenant Suarez then completed The Basic School at Quantico, Virginia and the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. After graduating from FAOBC Second Lieutenant Suarez was assigned to Battery B, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines aboard Camp Pendleton, California.

In 2004, Second Lieutenant Suarez deployed to Okinawa in support of the Unit Deployment Program (UPD). He supported various exercises aboard mainland Japan. In December 2004, First Lieutenant Suarez assisted the battery in support of Operation Unified Assistance-Tsunami Relief in Indonesia. Upon his return he continued to serve with the battery as the Battery Fire Direction Officer (FDO).

During this assignment, First Lieutenant Suarez deployed a second time with the battery in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006 as the FDO and shot over 2,000 rounds in support of combat operations in Al Anbar Province. Upon returning to Camp Pendleton, First Lieutenant Suarez was assigned as the battery Executive Officer (XO). In May of 2007, First Lieutenant Suarez was reassigned to 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, where he served as Firepower Control Team Leader, Supporting Arms Team Leader and Brigade Platoon Commander.

During this assignment, Captain Suarez deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008 and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010, working with various Marine Corps, joint and coalition units. In September 2010, he reported to Field Artillery Captains Career Course and upon completion Captain Suarez reported to 2d Battalion, 14th Marines in April of 2011, where he serves as the Inspector-Instructor of Battery D and ended his active service in September 2013.

Major Suarez affiliated with 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, in March 2014 were he served as FOPS Officer and in July 2014 assumed command of Headquarters Battery.
