Major Scott E. Samuelson
Battery Commander
Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

Maj Scott Samuelson is a native of Austin, TX. He attended the ROTC program at the University of Mississippi where he studied Criminal Justice. After commissioning as an active-duty officer in 2010 he attended The Basic School where he was designated a 5803 Military Police Officer before attending the Military Police Basic Officer Leaders Course. His first duty station was Okinawa, Japan where he joined the newly formed 3d Law Enforcement Battalion. During this time, then Lt Samuelson, participated in several joint exercises in South Korea and New Caledonia as a platoon commander and company XO. He also participated in the Fleet Assistance Program where he was a district officer in charge for the Provost Marshal Office in Okinawa.

Maj Samuelson left active duty in 2015. He immediately entered the direct affiliation program to the reserve component and joined HQ Btry, 2nd Bn, 14th Marines. Soon after arriving at Grand Prairie, TX he executed orders to the Field Artillery Basic Officer Leaders Course where he graduated as an honor graduate and was designated an 0802 Field Artillery Officer. Upon completion of the course, he returned to Grand Prairie, and was soon transferred to Kilo Battery, 2/14 in Huntsville, Alabama.

From 2016 to 2021, then Capt Samuelson, served as a Fire Direction Officer, Platoon Commander, and Battery XO. He deployed with a detachment from the battery to Task Force Southwest in Afghanistan as a Fire Direction Officer and the detachment's XO. During this deployment the detachment provided fire support from the HIMARS system to the Task Force Commander.

In 2021 Maj Samuelson transferred back to 2/14 Headquarters to serve as a HIMARS planner within the battalion staff. In the Summer of 2021, he was appointed the Battery Commander for HQ Battery, 2/14. Maj Samuelson currently resides in Arkansas with his wife and two children and is a Patrol Officer with the Springdale Police Department.

His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal
