Biography

 

Captain Jesus Aguilera
COMMANDING OFFICER
HEADQUARTERS BATTERY, 5TH BATTALION, 14TH MARINE REGIMENT

Captain Jesus Aguilera is a native of Santa Barbara, CA.  After completing The Basic School and the Field Artillery Officer's Basic Course, he reported to 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines in Camp Pendleton, CA, in June 2013. While assigned to 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines, he deployed on the 31st MEU as a Platoon Commander and Fire Direction Officer for the Expeditionary Fire Support System (M327) with Battalion Landing Team 3/5 where he participated in PHIBLEX 2014.

In November 2015, Captain Aguilera deployed again on the 31st MEU as the Fire Support Officer for Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines.  On the MEU, Captain Aguilera participated in Cobra Gold in Thailand and Ssang Yong in South Korea. 

Upon return from the MEU, Captain Aguilera served as Battalion Fire Support officer for 1/5 and 3/5.  Prior closing out his time in 2/11, he also served as the Assistant Fire Support Coordinator.   

In May 2017, Captain Aguilera transferred to the Selected Marine Corps Reserve and reported to 5th Battalion, 14th Marines. 

While serving with 5/14, he was assigned as Platoon Commander and Executive Officer of Oscar Battery, 5/14.  In May of 2019 Captain Aguilera served as the Executive Officer for Headquarters Battery, and assumed Command of November Battery in October of 2021.  Captain Aguilera in currently serving as the Commanding Officer for Headquarters Battery.

He earned his Bachelors of Science from the United States Naval Academy in 2012.

Captain Aguilera's personal decorations include: Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
