Sergeant Major Steven L. Limox
Command Senior Enlisted Leader
4th Civil Affairs Group

Sergeant Major Steven L. Limox is a native of Fredericksburg, VA. After completing high school, Sergeant Major Limox enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Sergeant Major Limox completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC in May 2003. Sergeant Major Limox then reported to the Marine Combat Training (MCT), at Camp Lejeune, NC.

Sergeant Major Limox completed MCT in September 2003 with the MOS of Field Radio Operator (0621). From January 2003 to May 2006 Sergeant Major Limox was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, H&S Company, Camp Pendleton, CA.

Sergeant Major Limox deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in September 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sergeant Major Limox served as the Team Leader for both Combat and Non-Combat related missions.

Sergeant Major Limox deployed to Haditha, Iraq in June of 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sergeant Major Limox served as the Squad Leader in charge of all Forward Retransmission Operations.

In August of 2006, Sergeant Major Limox reported to 11th Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton, CA. Sergeant Major Limox served as the Assistant Radio during the Commanding Generals Inspection prior to receiving orders to Quantico, VA in November of 2006. Sergeant Major Limox was assigned as a Formal Schools Radio Instructor with the Basic Communications Officer Course until November 2008.

In December of 2008, Sergeant Major Limox report to Helicopter Marine Corps Squadron One, Quantico VA. Sergeant Major Limox served as one of four Marine One Communication Operators in charge of providing in flight communications to President Barrack Obama. In May 2011 Sergeant Major Limox was Honorably Discharged from Active Duty.

In April of 2012, Sergeant Major Limox Re-Enlisted into the Marine Corps Reserves at the Marine Corps Network Operations Center, Quantico, VA, as the Data Supervisor. Sergeant Major Limox oversaw Firewalls and Data prevention management.

In March of 2017, Sergeant Major Limox was Re-Assigned the HMX-1. Sergeant Major Limox served as a Communications Systems Operator in direct support of President Donald Trump.

In May of 2018 Sergeant Major Limox was Re-Assigned to Company Delta, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion where he served as the Company First Sergeant. In May of 2021, Sergeant Major Limox was assigned to BattleSpace Surveillance Company, Intelligence Support Battalion where he served as the Company First Sergeant and Acting Sergeant Major.

In May of 2022, Sergeant Major Limox was assigned to Intelligence Support Battalion as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader. In April of 2024, Sergeant Major Limox assumed his current billet as the 4th Civil Affairs Group, Command Senior Enlisted Leader. 

Sergeant Major Limox’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Marine Good Conduct Medal, Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal, Presidential Service Badge, and Naval Aircrew Wings. Sergeant Major Limox holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
