14th Marines train with one of Corps’ deadliest rocket systems
Marines with Battery F, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve balance a rocket pod while offloading the unit from one truck to another before a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System test-fire at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla., during their summer annual training exercise, “Iron Rage,” June 4, 2016. Iron Rage consisted of conducting field operations with HIMARS and testing command and control proficiency at platoon and regimental levels in conjunction with other batteries from 14th Marines in Alabama and Texas. The HIMARS is the Marine Corps’ most advanced artillery system, and 2/14 is the only battalion in the Reserve component that is trained and mission capable with HIMARS alongside 5/11, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
