During his seven-month tour in Iraq, Martell met weekly with an Iraqi judge to help successfully coordinate efforts of Coalition and Iraqi Security Forces in apprehending and prosecuting those suspected of insurgent activity. In his civilian career Martell, a native of Rutland, Vt., is an attorney with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel in Washington, D.C.
