Innovative Readiness Training - Louisiana Care

ABOUT

On July 10-24, 2017, the Louisiana Care IRT contingent comprised of National Guard and Reserve assets of the U.S. Armed Forces will deploy to the medically underserved communities of Louisiana to conduct deployment and readiness training for military personnel. Incidental to military readiness training, the Louisiana Care IRT team will provide medical, dental and optometry care to assist local health and municipal authorities in addressing underserved and unmet community health and civic needs. Units will also conduct critical mission training and logistical movement in order to simulate military/civilian humanitarian operations and health care delivery in the time of crisis, conflict or disaster.

4th Marine Division chaplain receives Legion of Merit
Navy Capt. William A. Wildhack III, chaplain for the 4th Marine Division, receives the Legion of Merit at the Marine Corps Support Facility New Orleans, March 17, 2014. According to the citation, Wildhack exhibited exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service as force chaplain and deputy force chaplain from August 2011 to September 2013. As the first Reserve-component chaplain to serve as both deputy and force chaplain, Wildhack’s leadership, unequaled vision and superior managerial increased awareness of Reserve-component issues among active-component counterparts and the chaplain leadership.
