Innovative Readiness Training - Louisiana Care

ABOUT

On July 10-24, 2017, the Louisiana Care IRT contingent comprised of National Guard and Reserve assets of the U.S. Armed Forces will deploy to the medically underserved communities of Louisiana to conduct deployment and readiness training for military personnel. Incidental to military readiness training, the Louisiana Care IRT team will provide medical, dental and optometry care to assist local health and municipal authorities in addressing underserved and unmet community health and civic needs. Units will also conduct critical mission training and logistical movement in order to simulate military/civilian humanitarian operations and health care delivery in the time of crisis, conflict or disaster.

Marine Forces Reserve implements BLAM initiative
Lieutenant General Rex C. McMillian, commander of Marine Forces Reserve and Marine Forces North, speaks to senior administrators attending the Battalion Level Administration Management initiative at the 2016 Senior Administrator Symposium aboard Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Belle Chasse, La., Oct. 12-13, 2016. McMillian spoke on the importance of ensuring all MARFORRES units administratively ready across the board. The symposium utilized instruction and practical application to help senior administrative personnel understand how and why the implementation of the Battalion Level Administrative Management initiative will improve Reserve units’ ability to pass MCAAT inspections.
