RSA 29 Palms mission

On August 16th, 2022, Commander Forces Reserve established 29 Palms Reserve Support Activity (RSA) under the Deployment Processing Command, Reserve Support Unit West (DPC/RSU-W) operational hierarchy.

DPC/RSU-W and RSA 29 Palms provide a core staff to support unit mobilization and provide capacity to scale up mobilization activities for the Reserve Support Unit. In addition, the RSA would be able to facilitate and support reserve requirements for annual training and serve as liaison between installation and units to facilitate pre-deployment training and rapid mobilization, resulting in a better quality of training and operational readiness for reserve operations forward.

Unlike DPC/RSU, Camp Talega, the RSA does not have organic capabilities for billeting, range control and other pertinent facilities; however, the RSA staff is able to make accommodations. The staff serves as liaison to all units aboard MCAGCC, ultimately resulting in a smoother & more efficient training cycle for the visiting reserve units
